I know that there was some interest in getting tee shirts made for this event so I took a trip to the vendor (the place I got the shirts last time) and got some information.I was able to talk the guy down to a 20 tee shirt minimum order (down from 36 orders). The available tee shirt colors are WHITE or ASH (light grey). The logo is going to be 2-colors, black for the text and red for the target rings. The white shown in the target rings will be the color of the shirt. On the back of the shirt will be “RLB STOCK 2006”. The initial cost for the tees are slightly higher (than some other places might be) due to the cost of the silk screens that need to be made for this have been incorporated into the total price. Then I got thinking about the embroidered logo that we used on the sport shirts and caps. When I placed the first order, I just had to have two tees made for my girls, which they embroidered the logo in the middle of their size 2T tee shirts.
I personally think the embroidered logo came out pretty good on the cotton tee so I also got some prices for tee shirts with the embroidered logo on the left breast and “RLB STOCK 2006” embroidered directly under the logo. While the embroidered shirts are slightly more than the silk screened shirts, there are no minimum order requirements for the embroidered tee shirts. Here is the pricing for the shirts. I'll let you all decide on whether to go with the silk screened or embroidered shirts... The RLB Logo
The embroidered logo will have the three colors in them, Black, White, and Red. The silkscreened logo will only have two colors, Black and Red. The shirt color will show through in place of the white in the target. This will only be noticable on the ASH colored shirts. - Hanes 100% Cotton "Heavy-Weight" Tee

I have clay birds that I am willing to donate for an event. What I am proposing is to mount the clays on cardboard as targets. They can be posted at any distance and shot from off hand or rest depending on the event. It would be a timed event with the first to clear the board (breaking more than 50% of each clay) the winner. Are there any comments for or against this type of event? Is there anyone who will be shooting cast bullets from a rifle?

Okay, I'll be the first to ask. What the devil is a "beefy" T shirt? Can I get twinky stars on mine?

Bee,The "Beefy" tee is a registered name from Hanes. I believe it is the heaviest weight tee they make with a fabric weight of 6.3 ounces. The "Heavy-Weight" tee is slightly lighter with a fabric weight of 5.5 ounces. As far as the twinky stars go, well, you'll have to keep them online here. ------------------

Here are several ideas regarding some of the rifle events we could hold. Comments on these and suggestions for other events are more than welcome too.• Bench... Supported, open sights, 100 yard, jacketed bullets Supported, open sights, 200 yard, jacketed bullets Supported, open sights, 100 yard, cast bullets Supported, open sights, 200 yard, cast bullets Unsupported, scope, 100 yards, jacketed bullets Unsupported, scope, 200 yards, jacketed bullets Unsupported, scope, 100 yards, cast bullets Unsupported, scope, 200 yards, cast bullets • Offhand... Rifle, open sights, 50 yards Rifle, open sights, 100 yards (cast) Rifle, open sights, 100 yards (jacketed) Rifle, scoped, 50 & 100 yards • 22 Rimfire Rifle, open sights, 50 yards Rifle, open sights, 100 yards Rifle, scoped, 50 yards Rifle, scoped, 100 yards These events could be broken down into 5-shot strings, some timed as slow fire with one round per minute and others rapid fire with one or two minutes for the entire 5-shot string. Also, should we have a standardized target for the varying distances/events? ------------------

Clayt,I checked the web site and it shows that there are 50, 100, and 200 yard firing ranges for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. Do you also have a range/section specifically for handguns from 7 to 25 yards too? ------------------

We have a handgun range that has distances 7 to 50 yards.IF there are to be any clay birds used in any range besides the trap fields, they would have to be 100% cleaned up after shooting. There are rules against it, but seeing how this is a "special (supervised) event" I don't see a problem and it sounds like fun! ~Clayt

Greg, please pm me what the total cost (plus shipping) of 2 "beefy" 2XL (ash) shirts would be. Include your address and I'll mail you a check (hee hee). Dang, I hate it about those stars. Do you reckon I could get some of those sunday school attendence stars and paste them on?

Bee,If we get a commitment for 20 orders, I'll get the silk screened shirts. If we fall short of 20 orders, I'll get the embroidered shirts. Since the prices vary, I don't want to collect any money until we know for sure on the number of orders. The lead time for the shirts are 2 to 3 weeks so we can't wait that long to place the order on these. If I place the order no later than June 30th, we will have plenty of time to get them before the trip to Maine. I can ship them out USPS Priority Mail or save the money for shipping and bring them with me. We can figure that out once we get closer to placing the order. I think I have some of them in the assorted stickers that my kids play with. If they are there, I'll put some twinky star colors to the side for you. ------------------

That does sound like fun. I'm sure we could confine the clay birds to a limited number of target frames and a garden rake should be all that's needed to cleanup all the broken pieces.------------------

Tim,They most likely will. However, the first batch of shirt orders had the logo on the front left breast (same as these) and the 264 RLB™ cartridge drawing on the back. If we get the minimum order for shirts, we could have them silk screened. The prices for silk screen shirts listed above is for the "RLB STOCK 2006" printed on the back. If we want to keep the cartridge drawing on the back, another screen needs to be made, which is an additional $20. That would increase the overall prices on 20 shirts $1. Out of the 12 original orders, I have been in contact with a few of those members and they still want to order them if we reach the minimum amount. I would have to contact the remainder of those members and see if they still want them in order to update the total amount of orders. PS With the 20 shirt minimum, the shirt colors are limited to WHITE and ASH (light grey) only. ------------------

The window to order shirts before the RLB STOCK 2006 is closing quickly. They take about 3 weeks to get once the order is placed. I'm going to email everyone who has placed previous orders for tees and see if they still want them. The order would need to be placed no later than 6/30/06 to ensure a timely delivery.Currently, there are 6 tee shirt commitments (Paul-2, Bee-2, Me-2). If anyone else wants one, you need to let me know soon. Rob? Sed? ------------------

There were 11 original tee shirt orders, of which I'm still waiting for a reply from 4 members (accounting for 4 tees). The current total of tees from the original order are at 7. Add Paul's, Bee's and my order of 2 each and the combined total is now at 13 tee shirts.Paul, I need to know if you want the "Heavy-Weight" or the "Beefy" tee and the color (WHITE or ASH)? IF we get the 20 order minimum, the shirts will be silk screened (printed). The original tee shirt orders will have the RLB Logo on the left breast and the 264 RLB cartridge drawing on the back. The shirts for those members going to Maine this August will also include RLB STOCK 2006 printed on the back of the shirt. So far we have 13 tee shirt orders. I'm already in for a total of 4 shirts and I'll pickup the additional cost of making the "RLB STOCK 2006" silk screen. We still need 7 more tee shirt orders! ------------------

Shirt Update...Still no replies to the 4 emails, but the tee shirt orders are now up to 18! Jes, I will have my laptop and hooking up a web cam would be no big deal, however, I seriously doubt that the gun club has a high speed (or dial-up) Internet connection at the shooting benches. I'll be taking plenty of photo's and video to put up on the site afterwards though. ------------------
